Babylon 5 HD Visual Effects Remaster Petition

Because Babylon 5’s digital effects were rendered for standard definition television at an aspect ratio of 1.33:1 for its original broadcast, its quality simply does not stand up to the quality of high definition 1.78, particularly bearing in mind that the shots with CGI have to be cropped to remove nearly 1/3 of its standard resolution to fit widescreen TVs.
The original special effect files for Babylon 5 have also been lost, making this undertaking particularly costly compared to other HD remastering efforts. But now that Star Trek has begun their own lengthy and expensive remastering efforts, it seems inevitable the same will eventually occur with Babylon 5. We want to see it happen soon and under the supervision of J. Michael Straczynski.

Admin note: Yeah, I entirely agree that they should do this, personally of all the shows I own, this is one I’d buy again on Blu-Ray. That said… shouldn’t they have like, an actual petition? Either way definitely get behind these guys.
